Identification of national priorities and sustainable development gaps is one of the areas where a national consensus must be forged for the #NFUR00 - National follow up and review - #asd79 as described in the UNDG Guidelines so support country reporting.

For the macro-economic level, this is for the macro journey, the guidelines mention the technique of growth diagnostics. The approach suggests an analytical framework to identify the most binding constraints that hamper economic growth in a specific country at a specific point in time, so that policymakers can creatively develop policy designs to address the most binding constraint while taking into account relevant factors of their country’s economic, political and social context. Most importantly, it considers both orthodox and heterodox policies as possible solutions to ignite growth.

Similar diagnostics approaches can be applied for the identification of priorities in meso, micro and pico journeys as explained in the overview table at social architecture.
